Fees will include the cost of the surgery, the facility fees, the anaesthesia fees, and the costs of the many single use items that are consumed in your surgery and aftercare. Included in the surgical fees are all your postop visits, your followup check ups, and all the aftercare required. When you are getting quotes from different doctors, remember that you are also comparing the quality of the care that you want. There are cheaper surgeons, and cheaper clinics, but the quality is what you should be comparing. Just think about the actual costs of providing your service. Is there adequate professional staffing of the clinic? Are there real registered nurses to help you in the operating room and the recovery room? What about the quality of the clinic and surgery center? Does it look like it is properly maintained and inspected? Are the safety systems in place properly maintained and serviced by biomedical engineers? Are the electronic monitors and sterilization systems in place properly serviced and maintained and checked according to manufacturer specifications? Does the clinic offer special care and consideration for your comfort before, during, and after the procedure? All of these things, plus the knowledge, experience, and training of the staff cost time and money. A large part of your fees go towards all of these components that are visible to you, plus many that are not visible. Therefore, when you are comparing prices, think about all these background things, and whether you think it is reasonable or not to pay the fee based on informed opinion.

Remember to put things into perspective. You might think it is reasonable to spend, say $15 or even $30 thousand dollars for a car that you may enjoy for at most 10 years. In comparison, if you get aesthetic surgery, you will be enjoying the results every single day for the rest of your life. It will be money well spent if it corrects something that bothers you every single day. It will be money well spent if it improves the quality of your life and improves your confidence and well being. Compared to the other major expenses in your life, aesthetic surgery starts to look pretty inexpensive in the big picture.
