Do you remember the excitement you felt as a child at Christmas time? Remember driving your parents’ nuts by getting up before the crack of dawn to open your presents? Some kids never get that. The economy has been tough over the past few years, and money has been tight. Some kids never get the opportunity to share in the joy of giving or receiving. You can help change that, by touching a child’s heart, and helping to spread the joy of the season.
This year, we are helping our neighborhood children by enticing our patients and customers to give generously to needy families. We have allocated valuable prizes to give away to our clients this Christmas, and all you have to do is donate. The Salvation Army has done the leg work, and they have collected names of eligible recipients (families that have registered for the Christmas Bureau). The program is run by the City of Waterloo, the Salvation Army, May Court Club, Waterloo Grand River Kin Family, Optimist International, Waterloo Chronicle, Conestoga Mall, and KOOL FM radio. You can stop by the Zellers Courtyard at Conestoga Mall starting on Fri., Nov 26/10 and drop off a toy there. It must be a NEW, UNWRAPPED TOY suitable for young children or teenagers. Some of you don’t have time to shop, and would rather give cash donations. That’s great- there are volunteers who will do the shopping for you through the program. If you want some shopping suggestions, drop by the Tree of Angels at Conestoga Mall and the volunteers can give you some ideas. If you want to participate in our program, then read on…
If you drop off your donation for the Tree of Angels at our office, we can take it from there, so it will be more convenient for those of you who are too busy to brave the nutty crowds at the Mall. What is in it for you? We are participating by rewarding the donors! Every day that you bring in a gift or gifts entitles you to one raffle ticket for a chance to win a Grand Prize Draw of a Gift Basket (*some restrictions apply) and other great prizes. Details on prizes to be won are available in the Clinic, but they are pretty amazing, including fantastic Cosmaceuticals that help your skin look its best, plus a bunch of other treats, and an Apple iPod®! We are starting the program now, before the main program begins, so you can get your donations out of the way early. Things always get more hectic as the time gets closer to Christmas, so why not get this out of the way now?. Come on into the Clinic to do some gift shopping and to donate to the Tree of Angels! The raffle draw will be on December 23, 2010, and you will have the opportunity of picking up your prizes after that. Remember to keep your tickets in a safe place! We will post the winning ticket numbers on our websites and Facebook Page on December 23, 2010. Please give generously to your community, and get a chance to win fabulous prizes! Please remember to think about the young teens in this program just as much as the little ones. It seems that teenagers do not get as much attention, when in fact they need just as much love and support as our younger children do. Your gifts might reach out to them, and show them that they matter to us, and perhaps make a huge difference in how we shape their young lives. If it’s true that we shall reap what we sow, let’s make sure that all our children feel special this year. It might mean all the difference in the world to one child, and it could be your gift that makes the difference between a life well lived and a lost soul.
